Ok, I went to B&Q and bought the nearest blue mix paint to the swatches above and painted a patch on the sky…
The next colour down on the chart was too pale compared to my print outs but I think this one is too dark. I needed a half way house! Last time I saw a layout with a background this colour one of the people next to me spent several minutes saying how awful it was blah, blah, blah. I don’t want this to have the same reaction!!!!
I’m going to do clouds after my friends, Leigh and Brian, made the excellent suggestion. They’ll even hide the odd bit of poor filling and sanding! I’ll base them on the two photos above from my holiday last year. The bottom will have a lot of hills so I might wait until they are mocked in before painting the clouds in.
If the blue does look terrible after the first coat I may add white to the second coat to lighten it up a bit. There’ll be space in the tin for some white by then. At the end of the day, only a small amount of blue will show after hills, clouds, valance etc are in.
