It’s been a bit of a disaster on the diorama base. I tried casting it out of plaster with rebar sticking out the side and a plaster wall. Let’s just say that I have loads of broken bits of concrete for the diorama! The main problem was the weight, a couple of layers of plaster delaminating and no way of fixing the concrete wall upright without it falling off. The bits of rebar sticking out looked good but were really painful everytime you moved it!
I’m now on to plan B – using wood as the base and screwing the wall upright. I’m not sure how I’ll finish it yet but it should be more vertical and robust!
