We managed to get through the Long Range Plan quite quickly so we were finished by 2:30. I ran back, put my shorts on and went sightseeing in Paris, the Venetian, Palazzo, Treasure Island, the Mirage and Caesar’s Palace.
Paris was great from the outside but a little disappointing inside:
My favourite was the Venetian with its singing gondoliers. It has a sky painted on and is built like Venetian streets. Awesome! When Venice sinks into the lagoon, this may be all that is left.
Caesar’s palace is huge and as impressive as I remember from 20 years ago.
The strip:
Vegas is rammed with loads of people including young kids. It’s quite a tourist spot but also incredibly tacky with scruffy men handing out cards with hookers on them. Apparently prostitution is legal in Vegas!
We had supper at Señor Frogs in Treasure Island and sat outside by one of the ships. Unfortunately, they aren’t working at the moment. Yes, it was that warm. I was in shorts and a vest top! Outside. In February.
We went to bed early as we were getting up at 4am to catch the flight back to Kansas City. The guys in the next door room who like to bounce a bowling ball in the middle of the night were also playing rap on the walls and a group of girls decided to party in the hall with all the passers by from 1-2am.
