Up at 6:20 and had a great breakfast of bacon, eggs and cinnamon whirls. It was a jam packed day starting with a trip to Mike Porter’s Chicago Great Western layout. His layout is over 75 foot long – longer than my garden – by 45 foot! He’s really into operations but has started to scenic too. I ran a train around his layout including over a really impressive 15′ long bridge based on one Mike used to run over in Ohio. He has the neon depot sign from Fort Dodge and some really interesting railroad wall paraphernalia.
