Day 3 – Bailey Island boat trip

Up at 6 and out early for breakfast (Starbucks on the waterfront) and onto our cruise. We set off at 10 and went around Casco Bay to Bailey Island. It was really hot but windy out on the water.

The scenery was stunning.

You can see a man’s face in profile if you look carefully:

We had lunch at Cook’s Kitchen on the Island. I had Lobster and Indian Pudding, a mix of molasses and cornmeal. Next time I’ll remember to take photos before I eat the food:

We watched a lobster boat land its catch:

The boat back was colder but still sunny so we walked along to the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad to warm up. It was shut but we had a look at the odd looking locos. 2′ gauge looks very narrow!

We walked back home via a gelato shop where I had my very first cannoli. Lovely.

We went to Otto’s pizza for a slice and having never had a cannoli before, had my second!
