Pond Scum!

How to Model Pond Scum

It’s on so many ponds but rarely modelled so I’m starting off my water plants series with… pond scum.

In the video I experiment with a number of different paint types to see which is best for scum.  I then try it out on a small diorama.

Real World Pond Scum

In the real world, scum gathers in still water with little current.  It can be found anywhere from an untouched bucket full of water to a deep placid lake.

  1. Love all you are doing with the water series. As soon as I finish my current scratch build, I will be doing water and you will be the primary resource. Thank you for what you are doing on you site. You have post a great many ideas and there are probably many of us that are going to use your ideas. Much appreciated and I wish you a very Happy New Year.
