Photo of the Week – Optimus and Bumblebee
This week’s photo is a diorama I made a few years ago with a city backdrop. It’s two Takara Tomy DMK kits and, whilst they don’t transform, they are great kits to make. I didn’t paint the models as the plastic came ready coloured with decals. I did varnish and weather them to make sure they did not look like plastic. I also painted some of the metallic parts to give them a bit of realism.
Both are lit with LEDs and the diorama base is from the third film, Dark of the Moon.
It’s hard to find these kits now in my normal suppliers but it looks like Takara Tomy may be releasing a DMK-04 so worth keeping your eyes out for that if you want to build one. 4
