Warley Model Railway Show is the largest show in the UK with over 90 layouts this year. They asked me to film it and boy, did it take a long time to get round them all and I still have a sinking feeling that I missed a few. If I missed yours then abject apologies! I was there all weekend and it was great fun to actually spend all weekend looking at layouts.
I did get some shopping in so a 16mm Quarry Hunslet is under the tree this year… along with a pile of low melt solder.
I also took a lot of photos, a large proportion of which are below. However, I have run out of energy to label them all. Which layout they are can be spotted on the video as every layout is captioned there. I won’t tell you how long that takes with 92 layouts and a flaky video programme because of a dodgy Mac upgrade…
Wow great show. Thank you for sharing. GB is just a 2,5h flight away so it seems like a bad excuse to not pay a visit 🙂
No excuse at all!
I would love to visit this show someday. Have you ever thought about of have heard about the Fine Scale Model Railroad Expo here in the states? Not the largest of shows but fantastic How to Clinics and wonderful displays.
Yes, I’ve been asked to go but this coming year is out for several reasons.
Kathy
Not sure you would be missing much this coming year, we will see. The one in Boston was great, got to tour the Franklin and South Manchester. Two thumbs up….
I saw FSM at the NMRA Hartford 2009. It was a great experience!

I agree about the F&SM although not to sound blasphemous, but it was smaller than I had envisioned
Jim
Ah, but I’m British. It was large for us.
To be honest, the thought of a 60’ basement empire fills me with dread. I’d never finish it!
Kathy
Are we ever finished? Remember, It’s not the destination, it’s the journey
True but if it’s too daunting, I don’t want to start. I can’t imagine anything worse than 60’ to model but others would hate a diorama. That’s the beauty of modelling. Something for everyone!
Thanks for sharing. You videoed many scales that I am not familiar with in the US.
Yes, OO has a lot of finescale variants.

Great work Kathy! The background music is incredible too. What is it? Also “Merry Christmas” and all the best for 2018 and I look forward to your future posts!
Hi Rod
The music’s from the YouTube library as it’s then royalty free etc.
Happy Christmas to you and have a wonderful Model-filled New Year.
