Mini Spacemen – Lost in Space Diorama

Mini Spacemen – Lost in Space Diorama

This is the last of my mini spacemen dioramas. This one is a spaceman in his element – lost in space! I am still working on improving at painting metallics and this spaceship was the perfect practice using holomatic chrome by Alclad.

I fell in love with these mini spacemen when I saw them on Instagram on Roman Lappart’s page. At just 15mm high, they are part of the Massive Voodoo Challenge 2020. You just need to create a diorama with a mini spaceman on it. The spacemen are resin casts from Mr Lee’s Minis. I bought a set of 3 and started planning. I came up with 3 dioramas and this is the last one. The first one was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and the second a desert diorama.

3D Print Files

I used one file from Thingiverse:

Paint

I used Alclad lacquers for the space rocket:
Alclad Gloss Black ALC-305 https://amzn.to/3g30fXT
Alclad Holomatic Spectral Chrome ALC-205 https://amzn.to/36W5B4g
Alclad Aqua Gloss ALC-600 https://amzn.to/3ohTioE

Materials

Box picture frame – I get mine from Hobbycraft generally
LED strip – this is a 12v LED strip. I thought afterwards that a twinkling one might be nice. https://amzn.to/2VTcCws
You will need a 12v power supply for LEDs and I also added a socket to plug into https://amzn.to/36SUR6x
